Blues player Jarome Luai responded to criticism about his team’s horrifying defeat in the second Origin game by sending a derogatory message to enraged supporters on Instagram.

The five-eighth person added, “Calm down, you all idiots have vwork tomorrow morning,” with multiple happy-crying emojis and the music “Me Against The World” by rapper Tupac Shakur playing in the background.

The fans he was making fun of would need to labour for three to six months in order to earn the $30,000 he received for a single game, as 2GB commentator Ray Hadley pointed out.

Salary:

Luai had been free to negotiate with other teams for 2025 starting in November, and the Panthers, who were trying to avoid being forced to pay a wage cap, were only willing to give him an annual salary of $850,000.
