Amid the debate over north versus south films, Akshay Kumar explained that he felt there was no need to create a divide. In an interview, Samrat actor Prithviraj also shared that he wants to work with Telugu actor Allu Arjun.
While Akshay Kumar was promoting his movie Samrat Prithviraj with Manushi Chhillar, he was asked which South Indian movies are doing better than Bollywood at the box office. Commenting on the matter, he said, “Please stop creating the kind of divide and conquer scenario in the country. There is nothing called South and North, we are all one as an industry. Now the time has come for all industries to come together and work together for a movie for all Indian audiences and Allu Arjun is expected to work with me soon and I will be starring another actor from the south. This is the way to go from now on.
The actor was recently trolled on the internet for mentioning that history textbooks in schools only mention Mughal rulers in detail. He added that the textbooks do not speak of the glory of Maharana Pratap and Prithviraj Chauhan. The actor was trolled for being factually incorrect, while netizens demanded he open an NCERT book.
During the interview, Akshay Kumar mentioned, “Unfortunately, our history textbooks only have 2-3 lines about Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan, but a lot has been mentioned about the invaders. mentioned about our culture and our Maharajas. Nobody is there to talk about it in our history books. I would like to ask the Minister of Education to look into this and see if we can balance it. We should know the Mughals, but also our kings, they were great too.
