Legacy:
German-born Jewish Holocaust victim Anne Frank is well-known for keeping a journal of her experiences. To avoid Nazi persecution, Anne and her family spent two years in hiding. The Diary of a Young Girl now contains her documentation of this period.
She was brave because she had to live each day knowing that the Nazis may discover her while she was hiding from them. She spent every day wondering about whether she would ever be able to return to school, see her friends, or even her cat. I believe we occasionally take our freedom for granted.
All of us—children, teenagers, and adults find inspiration in her. Because Anne had such bravery and influence, she inspired others to cherish their possessions and keep in mind the little things in life.
