Bill Nye is an American comedian, television host, mechanical engineer, and science teacher who has a net worth of $8 million as of 2022.
He is probably best known for being the host of the science program “Bill Nye the Science Guy”, which aired between 1993 and 1998.
Family:
Bill Nye was born on November 27, 1955. His mother was a codebreaker named Jacqueline Jenkins, and his father was a World War II veteran named Edwin Darby Nye.
His father escaped from Japanese prisoner-of-war camps and while under house arrest he built a solarium to tell the time. This had a significant impact on one of Bill’s later scientific works.

He has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University where he studied under Carl Sagan. He worked on a 747 as an engineer at Boeing before creating and hosting his much-loved Emmy Award-winning PBS show Bill Nye the Science Guy.
Yet despite his eventual rise to stardom, Nye was previously a mechanical engineer at Boeing Corporation in Seattle, Washington, after graduating from Cornell University.
During his time at Boeing, he invented the hydraulic resonance suppressor tube for use in Boeing’s 747.
Juneteenth:
Bill Nye got schooled after posting a celebratory Juneteenth tweet that contained false information about the holiday, marking the arrival of Union Major General Gordon Granger and his troops in Galveston, Texas, and the Emancipation Proclamation. Marks the anniversary of informing residents- which was issued. Two and a half years ago.
Nye posted a selfie on Sunday, June 19, 2022, with a copy of the Constitution, writing, “The United States we know today was built with the labor of enslaved Black Americans. The last were not freed (officially) until 19 June 1865. Let us celebrate— and never forget.”
