During his time at Alabama, Robinson has excelled at filling in as a backup, but 2021 should be the year he truly shines as a star. Robinson is currently considered to be the No. 1 running back because Najee Harris decided to join the NFL. Despite having few opportunities, Robinson had his greatest season in 2020, averaging 5.3 yards per carry on his way to 483 yards and six rushing touchdowns, both career highs. There is little reason to doubt Robinson’s ability to rush for over 1,000 yards and double-digit touchdowns, especially with the Tide introducing a new starting quarterback and nearly all new starting wide receivers. Robinson Jr. was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, on March 22, 1999. He went to Hillcrest High School, where his senior season saw him carry for 990 yards and 18 touchdowns, earning him a spot on the second team of the Class 6A All-State. Robinson committed to play for the University of Alabama and was a four-star recruit.
The Washington Commanders selected Robinson in the third round (98th overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft. On May 18, 2022, he agreed to a four-year rookie contract.
Robinson was shot in the knee and glute on August 28, 2022, after leaving a restaurant in Washington, D.C.’s Near Northeast neighbourhood just before 6 p.m. EDT. Two armed men were involved in the attempted carjacking.
