Post Game:

Draymond Green said he was not thrilled when Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr pulled him out with less than eight minutes to spare in the fourth quarter of Game 4 in Boston on Friday night.

“I’m certainly not thrilled to go into a winning game in the fourth quarter with seven minutes to come out of the game,” Green said. “I’m not going to sit here and act like I was thrilled. I’m a contestant.

“But if that’s what the coach decides, you roll with it. I had to keep my head in the game and try to make some plays whenever I went back. That was just my mindset.”

Podcast:

Green did a 31-minute podcast after Game 1, when the Celtics won 120-108 to take the opening series lead at Chase Center. He did a 25-minute podcast after Game 2, until I saw him mingle with fans who had just responded to the Warriors with a 107-88 victory.

The former Michigan State standout correctly identified how his team would be Schitt’s Creek without Steph Curry. He also appreciated the achievements of Andrew Wiggins.

Green’s ancient resurrection of what happened at TD Garden stopped there. He came on the bench during the most important segment of the game, his team’s most important event of the season. It’s a big deal, not a shrugged shoulder position like Green played it.
