Both teams created chances in the first half, but it was El Salvador who took the lead at halftime when Horvath ran out of his line in the 35th minute and Alexander Larin hit a pinpoint shot from the US keeper’s left flank to drive home. 1-0 lead in favor.
Berhalter brought in Weston McKennie for Aaronson and Jesus Ferreira, who scored four goals in the Americans’ previous match against Grenada, started the second half for Wright.

Jordan Morris came off the bench to score as the United States came from behind to draw 1-1 with El Salvador in the CONCACAF Nations League on a muddy, waterlogged pitch Tuesday night at the Estadio Cuscatlan in San Salvador.
US Coach Greg Berhalter made seven changes from last weekend’s 5-0 loss to 170 Grenada, putting forward Ethan Horvath, Tyler Adams, Younis Musah and Brendan Aaronsson in midfield, Christian Pulisic and Tim Veh and Haji Wright on the wings.
