On Sunday, unidentified assailants shot and killed popular Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala, who was running for election to the Punjab Legislative Assembly in 2021. He was rushed to hospital for medical treatment , but he was pronounced dead. His death sent shock waves across the country.
Several celebrities including Ajay Devgn, Shehnaaz Gill, Kapil Sharma and Himanshi Khurana took to social media to mourn his death. Fans also took to Twitter and Instagram to express their condolences for the loss of the talented singer, who had several hit songs.
A few netizens have noticed a strange parallel between Sidhu Moose Wala’s death and his latest song, The Last Ride. The singer released the song on May 15, two weeks before he was killed in Jawaharke village of Mansa district.
On May 15, Sidhu released a song called The Last Ride. The song was uploaded to Sidhu’s official YouTube channel and has nearly 10 million views. Many of the singer’s fans pointed out that the song sounded a lot like the rapper’s death. Reportedly, the song was written as a tribute to rapper Tupac Shakur (also known as 2Pac, who was shot in his car aged 25 in 1996).
Fans couldn’t help but notice that the image in The Last Ride promotional materials depicted the crime scene of Tupac’s assassination. According to one user, “Crazy how life works sometimes. Moosewala had just released ‘The Last Ride.’ sat in the right front seat of the car.
Many others noticed the song’s ominous lyrics. One fan tweeted: “Last week he released a song name The Last Ride and these are the lyrics: ‘Ho Chobbar De Chehre Utte Noor Dassda, Ni Ehda Uthuga Jawani Vich Janaaza Mithiye’ Today he was beaten down.” These words loosely translate as: “The glow on his face indicates that his funeral will take place in his youth.”
According to some fans, another of Sidhu’s songs seemed to have strange ties to his death. He released a song called Track 295 last year. “What a coincidence! Track 295:- yyyyyy date n month 29-5 (today’s date and month).
Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu aka Sidhu Moose Wala rose to prominence in 2017 after his song “So high” became a huge hit. Following this, the singer never looked back and delivered back-to-back super hits. Among his many hit songs are “Legend”, “Devil”, “Just Listen”, “Tibeyan da putt”, “Jatt da muqabala”, “Brown Boys” and “Hathyar”. The singer’s last release was titled “The Last Ride”.
