Sudeikis started his improv comedy career in the 1990s. In Kansas City, Missouri, at ComedySportz (now Comedy City), he started giving performances. As one of the original members of the long form team J.T.S. Brown, he relocated to Chicago, Illinois, where he studied at the Annoyance Theatre and IO Theater (formerly known as ImprovOlympic).
