Children:
Given that Boris Johnson, the former foreign secretary, is the front-runner to succeed Theresa May as the next prime minister, Tory MP Johnny Mercer was questioned about how many children Boris Johnson had fathered.
The MP for Plymouth Moor View was questioned by BBC 5live’s Emma Barnett how many children he has; before she inquired, Mr. Johnson had withheld that information.
Illness:
Following the revelation that Plymouth MP Johnny Mercer need an immediate surgery, he has been advised to “take it easy.” Felicity Cornelius-Mercer, Johnny Mercer’s wife, stated yesterday that the MP needs a neck procedure.
His wife Felicity tweeted: “He recently spent a day in the hospital with a herniated disc in his neck.” “Unfortunately, @JohnnyMercerUK didn’t have a nice day in the hospital today. He typically moves around very nimbly. Need for a neck procedure immediately. I appreciate all the best wishes.”
India:
We will provide £55.3 million in foreign aid to India in 2021–2022. I firmly believe in the importance of foreign aid and voted against the government’s proposal to cut it.
But if we punish Putin’s associates, it’s time to stop this donation as well. Much more deserving causes exist.
Brexit:
Plymouth, according to Mr. Mercer, has grown “extremely angry” as a result of the failure to achieve Brexit.
He asserted that the UK must leave the EU by October 31, 2019, and he believes that will happen. However, he does not believe that the so-called “no deal” withdrawal will occur because that would be “a tragedy”.
Mr. Mercer is counting on Boris Johnson to become PM and expeditiously push through a better agreement. Following a Brexit bounce, he believes, the nation will gain from the release of frozen investment and an increase in government spending.
And although he chose to stay in the EU in the 2016 referendum, he would choose to leave today if there were a new ballot.
