Kyrie Andrew Irving is an American professional basketball player for the Brooklyn Nets of the National Basketball Association. He was named Rookie of the Year after being selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers with the first overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft.
Kyrie Irving: Contract Extension, Stats, College, Salary Per Game
Stephen A. Smith couldn’t help laughing at the news that Kyrie Irving and the Brooklyn Nets are “at an impasse” over their contract talks.
Contract Extension:
The NBA off-season has just begun and the game already has a key player which was unexpected. Kyrie Irving and the Brooklyn Nets have reportedly reached an impasse in contract talks. This could open the door for Irving to leave the club he joined three years ago to team up with Kevin Durant.
Irving has $36.9 million in the final year of his contract for the 2022-2023 season. He might decide to opt for it and get a huge salary with the nets this summer.
But it boils down to the willingness of the franchise brass to discuss a contract extension. Last May in particular, GM Sean Marks gave some big words about Irving—noting that Brooklyn prioritizes players committed to its fruitful project.
