News:
“Mike Pence deserves it,” said Liz Cheney, the deputy chairman of the House January 6 committee, backed by former President Donald Trump’s threat to hang the former vice president from rioters during an attack on the Capitol.
Cheney, the panel’s top Republican, said testimony from former Trump aides showed Trump was not concerned about the threat to Pence’s life as pro-Trump rioters sacked the Capitol on January 6, 2021.
Cheney did not detail specific points of the plan in his opening statement. She said the rioters who breached the Capitol and fought with police were inspired by the actions of Trump, who was falsely claiming the election was stolen from him.
