The musician reportedly collapsed in his hotel room and was taken to CMRI Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Best known for his memorable tracks like Yaaron and Pyaar Ke Pal among others, the late singer was loved by many. His sudden death sent shock waves through all walks of life. As his loved ones, fans and the entertainment industry mourn his passing, actor R Madhavan has spoken of his grief upon hearing the news.
One of KK’s songs Sach Keh Raha Hai was featured in R Madhavan’s 2001 film Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein. The track and the film were huge hits that achieved cult status over the years. year. In an interview with The Times of India, R Madhavan said: ‘I am heartbroken’. Talking about working with KK, he said, “KK sang Sach Keh Raha Hai with so much soul that I found it hard to meet the demands of the song. It was emotional, there was betrayal and half of the expressions in that song came because of the way he sang it.”

“I will never forget KK. He has one of the best souls I have ever met and he was the kindest human being ever. He always sang with an open heart and the irony is that that’s the only thing that let him down. I’m heartbroken,” he added.

KK was one of the most popular playback singers. While he started his career with jingles, his film debut came with an AR Rahman soundtrack. He then released his album Pal from which Pyaar Ke Pal and Yaaron became instantly popular.
KK is survived by his wife, son and daughter.
