Ranbir Kapoor is preparing for the release of his next film Bramastra. Director Ayan Mukerji is a fantasy adventure film starring Kapoor alongside Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy. Brahmastra Part One: Shiva is the first part of a trilogy that is part of the Astraverse. Ahead of its release, Ranbir Kapoor opened up about the scale of the project and compared the film universe to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
According to reports on Variety, Ranbir revealed how the idea came about: “We were just three best friends, Alia and I, sitting around and dreaming about this movie with Ayan, and being soldiers for him.”
He added, “We had the opportunity to create our own Marvel, which Ayan is trying to do with his Astraverse. Any film, any good compelling story, made in your culture, authentically, in true form, will connect with a large audience.

So far, Brahmastra scorers have released teasers for the film and a song. The latest teaser offered a look at the main characters, including Amitabh Bachchan’s Professor Arvind Chaturvedi, Nagarjuna Akkineni’s Ajay Vashisht, and Mouni Roy’s Damayanti Singhania.

The synopsis of the film reads – BRAHMASTRA – the trilogy, is a 3 part film franchise and the start of India’s first original universe – the Astraverse. It is an original new cinematic universe inspired by concepts and tales deeply rooted in Indian mythology but set in the modern world, with an epic storytelling of fantasy, adventure, good versus evil, love and hope; all with state-of-the-art technology and unprecedented visual glasses.
Brahmastra Part One: Shiva hits cinemas on September 9 this year.
