On Sunday, an anonymous threatening letter addressed to Salman Khan and his father Salim Khan was discovered near Bandra’s bandstand promenade, prompting Bandra police to press charges against unidentified people.
According to the latest update, the Maharashtra Home Department has tightened security for the Dabangg star and his father. The letter was discovered on a bench by Salim Khan’s security staff, police said. The bulletin contained serious threats to Salman and Salim Khan. Police also reviewed CCTV footage of the bandstand area and questioned locals to determine who left the ticket behind.
Salman’s security had already been tightened following the murder of Punjabi singer and rapper Sidhu Moose Wala, with Lawrence Bishnoi emerging as the prime suspect in the case. The superstar had previously been on Bishnoi’s radar following the infamous blackbuck poaching case while filming Hum Saath Saath Hain. The Bishnoi community regards the blackbuck as a sacred animal, and Salman’s involvement in poaching had hurt feelings in the community. Bishnoi previously threatened to kill Salman in 2018.
“Salman Khan will be killed here in Jodhpur… Then he will know our true identity,” Bishnoi said as he was taken to a court in Jodhpur under heavy police protection.
Meanwhile, Salman’s next film will be Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali, in which he will co-star with Pooja Hegde in the lead role. He also has lead roles in Tiger 3 with Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi.
