Starfield is an upcoming action role-playing video game developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. The game was formally announced during Bethesda’s E3 press conference in 2018. The game is set in a space-themed world.
Starfield: Gameplay, Trailer, Release Date, Multiplayer, PC
Starfield was delayed last month to the first half of 2023, after being fully slated for release in November. Rumored for several years, and announced in 2018, it extends an extremely long wait for Bethesda fans. Head of Xbox Phil Spencer promised the company would do better after the delay.
Gameplay:
Gameplay proceeds in an abandoned research laboratory, where pirates are hiding. It is here that we see the XP progression system per kill action, and the weapons available in Starfield.
You can also use a jet pack to propel yourself towards enemies. As in previous Bethesda games, if you’re hunting for loot, you’ll have to pick up locks on weapon cases found throughout Starfield.
After early glimpses of Starfield at Microsoft’s Xbox and Bethesda Showcases last year and a delay to 2023, we’re now here thanks to 15 minutes of gameplay on Bethesda’s first new IP in 25 years.
Starfield is, of course, set in space where players will take on the role of the last group of explorers. Described by game director Todd Howard as “Skyrim in space”, the RPG will be playable in both first and third person, but is primarily first person.
Trailer:
Starfield, Bethesda’s ambitious new role-playing game, appears to be a mix of The Elder Scrolls and ambitious spacefaring games like Elite Dangerous and Star Citizen Project.
In a presentation livestreamed on Sunday, game director Todd Howard took off the cover of the much-anticipated game, featuring flyable, customizable starships as well as 100 star systems and more than 1,000 different worlds to explore.
The lengthy trailer, shown during a joint presentation with other Xbox Game Studios projects, and timed to coincide with the Summer Games Fest, also established the game’s storyline.
Announced in 2018 with The Elder Scrolls 6, Starfield was originally scheduled for launch on November 11, 2022. Last month, that date was pushed back to the first half of 2023. The delay prompted an apology from the head of Xbox, Phil Spencer.
Release Date:
2023
Starfield was originally set to launch on November 11, 2022, the release date of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, but Microsoft delayed it to the vague “first half of 2023” a few weeks before its Xbox showcase declare.
First off, in case you haven’t heard, Bethesda recently confirmed that they have decided to delay Starfield and Redfall from 2022 to the first half of 2023.
Multiplayer:
No, it is single player.
Sadly, the lack of any notable multiplayer modes is yet another Bethesda RPG tradition that Starfield will keep alive. In 2020, Bethesda’s Todd Howard confirmed that Starfield will be a single-player game (you can skip to the about 45-minute mark in that video to hear his exact comments).
If you’ve read Starfield’s gameplay in its entirety, probably the first word that popped into your mind was “big.” While we knew Starfield was going to be one of Bethesda’s biggest RPGs, few were drawn to the revelation that the game would allow you to explore over 1,000 planets.
PC:
Announced at the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase, Starfield will be released exclusively on Xbox Series X|S and PC at 11.11. 22. Play it with Xbox Game Pass on day one.
The Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase 2022 ended with the gameplay debut of the much-anticipated Starfield. The intergalactic action RPG has been in development since 2015 and is Bethesda Softworks’ first new IP in 25 years.
The starfield is set in a region that extends about 50 light-years outward from the Solar System known as The Settled System. The player assumes the role of a customizable character who is a member of Constellation, an organization of space explorers.
