The American actor Tony Sirico Jr. is best known for playing Peter Paul “Paulie Walnuts” Gualtieri on The Sopranos. He also had a lot of appearances in Woody Allen movies.

Tony Sirico, an actor best remembered for his role as Peter Paul “Paulie Walnuts” Gualtieri’s henchman in HBO’s “The Sopranos,” has passed away. He was 79 years old.

Tony Sirico passed away. He was best known for playing “Paulie Walnuts” Gualtieri on The Sopranos. He was 79.

According to Bob McGowan, Sirico’s manager of 25 years, he passed suddenly on Friday in an assisted living home in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Sirico had dementia for a few years, yet the cause of death was not made public.

Sirico had two children, Joanne and Richard.

At a Christmas dinner in Little Italy, Manhattan, in 1999, James Clemenza and his brother Jerry, members of the Colombo criminal family, met Sirico and his Sopranos co-star Vincent Pastore. FBI agents were watching Clemenza at the time.

For the majority of his life, Tony resided with his mother, Marie Sirico. Carmine Sirico and Rev. Robert Sirico, a Catholic priest and co-founder of the free market “Action Institute,” are two of his brothers.

Tony is a happy husband who has kept his wife’s identity a secret. Richard Sirico is his son, while Joeanna Sirico is his daughter.

On Friday, Robert Sirico, Tony’s brother, posted a picture of the two of them on Facebook along with a moving statement to inform his friends and family of his passing.

Robert wrote: “It is with great sadness, but with incredible pride, love and a whole lot of fond memories, that the family of Gennaro Anthony “Tony” Sirico wishes to inform you of his death on the morning of July 8, 2022.”

Sirico was born to an Italian-American family on July 29, 1942, in New York City. He was raised in Brooklyn’s East Flatbush and Bensonhurst areas. Robert Sirico, a Catholic priest and co-founder of the Acton Institute, is Sirico’s brother. 

Before starting his acting career, Sirico was convicted of a number of offences and had been detained 28 times, including for disorderly behaviour, assault, and robbery.

He was detained at a restaurant on February 27, 1970, and a.32 calibre handgun was discovered on him. He was charged with extortion, coercion, and felony weapon possession in 1971. He was found guilty and given a four-year prison sentence, of which he served 20 months at Sing Sing.

On July 8, 2022, Sirico, who was 79 years old, passed away in a Fort Lauderdale, Florida, assisted living facility. He was given a dementia diagnosis a few years before to his passing, albeit no specific cause was mentioned.
