Injury Update Today:

Tyron Smith, a Pro Bowl left tackle, was absent for multiple games last season for the Dallas Cowboys. This season, it will be the same.

The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Thursday morning that Smith actually suffered an avulsion fracture of the knee, which will likely require him to miss most or all of the 2022 season. Earlier reports had stated that Smith tore his left hamstring during practice on Wednesday.

Tyron Smith, a Pro Bowl left tackle, won’t be available to the Dallas Cowboys for a sizable portion of the season.

According to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport on Thursday, Smith needed surgery after suffering an avulsion fracture of the knee during practice on Wednesday. Smith won’t return to the field this season until December, if at all.

The 31-year-old suffered a non-contact injury during practice but was able to get up on his own.
