Akshay Kumar is completely caught up in the promotional activities of Samrat Prithviraj, his next film with debutante Manushi Chhillar. The actor recently gave an interview to a leading publication, where he talked about his marriage to Twinkle Khanna.
Akshay shared how he kept the spark in his marriage. Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna married in 2001 and have two children, a 19-year-old son, Aarav, and a 9-year-old daughter, Nitara. Speaking about his marriage, he said they both had conflicting personalities, but they managed to make it work. He said, “It works very weird. I have no idea. She’s thinking there, I’m thinking there. We’re thinking in two opposite directions.”
He added that they both believe in giving each other space and share healthy boundaries in their marriage. He added: “If asked, then she will give me a suggestion. If she asks me to read her column, I will read it. If she asks me what I think of it, I will say that it is not a good thing. If not asked, I stay away. I don’t interfere with her life, she doesn’t interfere with mine.
He also spoke about the importance of balance, adding, “It’s very important that you keep a balance in your life.” Akshay then shared an anecdote from a recent photoshoot at a farmer’s house. He said: “I’ll tell you the truth, even though his house was really small, there was happiness all around, even more than mine, even though I have everything. They were happy because they weren’t stressed about nothing. They get up in the morning and go to work, in the evening they have dinner before sunset. They work all day, their children go to a school nearby. They managed to keep a balance.
