There is no doubt about the popularity that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has gained all over the world. She was the reigning queen of celluloid in the late 90s and early 20s and made her presence felt with her great work. However, an old interview recently surfaced online that revealed the one movie that truly honored her with being called an actress.

As quoted in a leading entertainment portal, the interview has her stating, “I feel good about the fact that it’s a success, but I’m even happier and really happy that people recognize the efforts. and the hard work put in I earned the title of being called an actress. I had to bide my time. Miss India came easy, Miss World came easy but being called an actress took a bit of time and it feels good to have earned it. This is my real satisfaction. To have that reiterated with a beautiful film like Taal, I couldn’t have asked for a better time.”
Taal was a musical hit in 1999, led by Subhash Ghai where she shared screen space with Anil Kapoor.

On the work side, Aishwarya has Mani Ratnam’s highly anticipated Ponniyin Selvan in the works. The first poster was released a few months ago and looks extremely promising.
